When should you arrive to beat the heat and the crowds?

Here’s the planning advice we give every guest, because it makes or breaks a water-park day. A park this size — around 100,000 square metres — rewards an early arrival. Get there close to opening and you’ll have the popular slides almost to yourself, secure shaded loungers before they’re taken, and ride the biggest attractions before the queues build in the early afternoon.

The other half of the trick is the sun. Tropical UV is fierce from late morning, and it reflects hard off water and white decking, so people burn without noticing. We tell guests to do the thrill slides early, break for lunch and shade during the harshest midday hours, then come back out for the wave pool and lazy river as it cools. Reapply sunscreen far more often than feels necessary. On a rainy day the park still runs happily — you’re wet anyway — and it’s often quieter.

Andamanda Phuket is themed around Thai mythology and the legends of the Andaman Sea, with Sino-Portuguese and Thai architecture that nods to limestone cliffs and iconic local landscapes. Inside you’ll typically find a wave pool, a lazy river to drift, a set of thrill slides for older kids and adults, gentler family rides and a shallow splash area for the youngest.
