How old — and how tall — does a child need to be for the slides?

This is the question we answer for parents every single day, and it’s worth being honest about before you go, so nobody arrives to disappointed kids. At any water park the rides are governed by height, not just age, and the rules vary slide by slide:

• The big thrill slides almost always have a minimum height (often around 120 cm) and sometimes a maximum weight. A tall six-year-old may qualify; a small nine-year-old may not.
• Family raft rides usually let smaller children ride with an adult, which is how younger kids get their thrill.
• The kids’ splash zone and shallow pools are open to toddlers with a parent right beside them — this is where the little ones spend most of the day.
• The wave pool is depth-graded; non-swimmers should stay in the shallow end in a life vest.

Because exact heights change and each slide is different, tell us your children’s ages and heights on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you honestly which rides they’ll get on — before you buy tickets. We’d rather set expectations than have a child measured out at the top of the stairs.

There’s shade, loungers, changing facilities and food on site, so you can settle in for the day rather than rush.

Is it right for your family?

It’s a great pick for families with younger children, for a scorching day when everyone wants to cool off, and for a rainy day when the sea is rough and boat tours are cancelled. Confident older kids and teens get the thrill slides; toddlers get a safe splash zone. All ages need adult supervision in the water.

What should you bring?

Swimwear under your clothes, a towel each, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, a life vest plan for non-swimmers (the park has them), a waterproof phone pouch and cash for lockers and food. Water shoes save little feet on hot paths.
