The Phi Phi Islands + Khai Island speedboat tour is a full-day trip from Phuket with hotel pickup from about 07:00 and return around 16:30. It explores Phi Phi Leh’s famous corners — Maya Bay, Loh Samah Bay and Viking Cave — with lunch on Phi Phi Don, a snorkelling stop, and beach time at Khai Nok, Phuket’s best island for standing waist-deep among huge schools of tropical fish. Arranged by Chang Thai Tour & Travel, a TAT-licensed agency in Chalong.

Why is Khai Nok the family favourite?
Because the fish come to you. Khai Nok is a tiny sand island between Phuket and Phi Phi where big schools of tropical fish patrol the clear, waist-deep shallows right off the beach. Children who have never snorkelled stand in the water and squeal; grandparents photograph it from a beach chair with a drink. No swimming skill, no boat entry, no pressure. Of all the “third island” options on Phi Phi tours, this is the one we recommend most often to families across the counter of our Chalong shop.
Photographers chasing empty sand should look at the Phi Phi + Bamboo Island version instead — Khai is lively, not lonely.
What do you see through the day?
- 07:00–07:15 — Pickup from your hotel and transfer to the pier for check-in.
- Speedboat crossing to Phi Phi Leh: sightseeing at Maya Bay of “The Beach” fame, Loh Samah Bay and Viking Cave.
- Phi Phi Don: lunch and free time to explore Ton Sai’s beachfront lanes.
- Snorkelling stop over coral with reef fish.
- Khai Nok Island: swim, snorkel or photograph the schools of fish in the aqua-blue shallows.
- Around 16:30 — Return to Phuket and transfer back to your hotel.
Order and timing flex with tides, park traffic and season — that is normal for every honest Phi Phi operator.
What are the honest fine-print points?
Three things to know before you compare prices anywhere. First, the Phi Phi national park fee is not in the ticket — it is collected in cash during the tour, for every operator. Second, hotel transfer is free from the main south and west coast areas (Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong, Rawai, Phuket Town and nearby); far-north hotels pay a transfer surcharge. Third, Maya Bay is a walk-in, no-swim stop since its restoration, and it closes entirely each year from 1 August to 30 September. Our 2026 Phi Phi price guide walks through every inclusion and exclusion in plain English.
Included as standard: round-trip transfer from the free zone, English-speaking guide, injury insurance, life jacket, lunch (Indian meal available on request), and mask and snorkel.
Is this the right Phi Phi trip for you?
Yes, if you are a family with kids, a nervous swimmer, or simply want the classic sights plus guaranteed easy fish. The speedboat crossing is about an hour of open water each way — take a motion tablet 30 minutes before boarding if you are sensitive, and remember June to October brings monsoon chop. For the smoothest possible ride, the Phi Phi Cruiser big-boat tour trades speed for stability. Every option is listed on our Phi Phi Islands tours page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Khai Island good for children?
Excellent — the tropical fish swim in clear, waist-deep water right off the beach, so small kids can experience them without snorkelling skills. Life jackets are provided and the beach has easy, sandy entry.
Can you swim at Maya Bay?
No. Since Maya Bay’s restoration, swimming inside the bay is prohibited and the beach closes annually from 1 August to 30 September. You visit on foot for photos; swimming happens at the snorkel stop and Khai Nok.
Is the national park fee included?
No — the Phi Phi national park fee is mandatory and paid in cash during the tour, on top of the ticket. Message us on WhatsApp for the current amount.
Is hotel transfer included?
Yes from the main free zone — Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong, Rawai, Phuket Town and nearby. Hotels further north or on remote coasts pay a transfer surcharge; tell us your hotel and we will confirm which applies.
