Phuket FantaSea is a 30-acre cultural theme park on Kamala Beach, about 9 km from Patong, built around the award-winning “Fantasy of a Kingdom” stage spectacular — a Las-Vegas-style production blending Thai heritage with acrobatics, illusions, special effects and elephants. What is at Phuket FantaSea?

FantaSea is far more than a single show. Inspired by Thailand’s heritage, the park sets ancient Thai tradition against
cutting-edge technology across a huge site. The centrepiece is the Palace of the Elephants, a 3,000-seat theatre
whose production, Fantasy of a Kingdom, weaves Thai culture with illusions, 4-D effects, aerial ballet, acrobatics,
pyrotechnics and a cast that includes performing elephants — a spectacle designed to delight all ages. Around it are the
Festival Village for shopping, street performances, parades and games, the Tiger Jungle Adventure
theatrical safari, and the Similan Entertainment Center arcade. It is Phuket’s most popular night-time attraction
and runs rain or shine.

Dinner buffet or eat before — the honest answer?

This is the decision guests most want our straight opinion on. FantaSea’s Golden Kinnaree buffet is one of the
world’s largest, seating thousands in a mythical Himmaphan-forest setting, with Royal Thai and international dishes; there is also
the smaller, more refined Suriyamas seafood option. Here is our honest take: the big buffet is about
convenience and spectacle, not gourmet cooking — it keeps your whole evening on-site and is genuinely fun for
families and first-timers. If you are a serious foodie, you may prefer a show-only ticket and dinner elsewhere
beforehand. Either way, dinner is timed before the show (buffet service is in the earlier evening), so you eat first

How do you plan the evening and when should you arrive?

The park opens in the early evening and the headline show is later in the night, so timing matters. To enjoy the village, the
Tiger Jungle and dinner without rushing, the park’s own guidance is to arrive around 18.30 or earlier for the main
evening show, and at least an hour ahead for other showtimes. Come early, eat, wander the Festival Village and take your photos
there, then take your theatre seats. One firm rule to plan around: cameras and phones are not allowed inside the theatre
during the performance, and you check them in — so get your photos in the park beforehand. FantaSea is closed on
Thursdays (it may open if a Thursday is a public holiday).

Is it right for you?

FantaSea is the most all-round of Phuket’s night shows — families with children, couples and grandparents all enjoy it,
because there is plenty to do before you ever sit down. It is a full evening out, involves a fair amount of walking around the park,
and the show has loud effects and animals on stage. If you would rather a cabaret, see Simon

What are the different parts of the park?

It helps to picture FantaSea as several attractions in one ticket. The Festival Village is a lively street of shops,
craft demonstrations, games, live bands, parades and photo opportunities that fills the time before the show. Tiger Jungle
Adventure is a walk-through “theatrical safari” through a dozen mythical, folklore-inspired scenes. The
Similan Entertainment Center is an undersea-themed arcade the kids gravitate to. And the Golden Kinnaree
buffet hall — set in a mythical forest — is a spectacle in itself. Then everything funnels into the Palace of the Elephants for
the headline production. That is why it eats a whole evening: there is genuinely a lot to see before the curtain even rises.
