The Coral Island Afternoon Tour with Sea Activities is a half-day speedboat trip from Chalong Pier, Phuket, to Koh Hey (depart 12.15, return 16.15) built around the island’s adrenaline menu: scuba diving, parasailing, banana boat and sea walking, on top of swimming and snorkeling. Hotel pickup, snorkeling gear and a guide are included, arranged by our TAT-licensed family agency at Chalong Circle.

What sea activities can you actually do?
Coral Island is the closest island to Phuket with a full water-sports beach, and this package is the one we sell to guests who want an action afternoon rather than a sunbathing one. The four headliners, with the operator’s real rules:
- Parasailing — ages 12–60, max 80 kg, roughly an 800 m flight over the bay.
- Banana boat — ages 10–60, about a 20-minute ride.
- Scuba diving — ages 15–60, no licence required, around 45 minutes with an instructor.
- Sea walking — ages 15–60, about 20 minutes walking the seabed in a helmet; you do not even get your hair wet.
Between activities you snorkel straight off the beach over coral reefs busy with tropical fish — the island is only ten kilometers south of Phuket and the water is genuinely clear.
How does the afternoon run?
- 10.00–12.00: Hotel pickup and transfer to Chalong Pier.
- 12.15–12.30: Speedboat to Coral Island — a 15-minute crossing.
- 12.45–16.00: Beach time: snorkeling over the reefs, swimming, and your chosen sea activities.
- 16.00–16.15: Return to Chalong Pier and transfer to your hotel.
Included: hotel transfer from the main tourist areas, injury insurance, mask, snorkel and life jacket, beach chair, and an English-speaking guide. The sea activities themselves are the add-on you build your afternoon around. Note: pregnant women, children under 1 and guests over 70 cannot join.
Is this tour right for you?
Teenagers and adults chasing a thrill fix without a long boat day — this is it. Because everything happens off one beach, mixed groups also work well: half the group parasails while the other half naps under an umbrella, and everyone is back together for the 16.00 boat.
If nobody in your group wants motorized fun, save the difference and take the plain Coral Island Afternoon Tour. If you want the same island with more hours to fit everything in, the Coral Island Full Day Tour departs in the morning.
What should you bring?
Swimwear worn from the hotel, towel, sunscreen, and a dry bag for phone and cash. Book your activities with the beach staff the moment you land — parasailing and sea walking queues build fastest between 13.00 and 15.00, which is exactly your window. Check the age and weight rules above before promising anything to the kids.
Honest advice from our counter in Chalong
Guests tell us the sleeper hit is sea walking: non-swimmers and glasses-wearers who thought scuba was off the table walk the seabed surrounded by fish and come back grinning. The afternoon slot also means you can do a morning at your pool and still be on an island by 12.45 — Coral Island is the only Phuket island trip where that maths works. Frequently asked questions
Do I need a diving licence for the scuba activity?
No. The beach dive is instructor-led and open to ages 15–60 with no licence, lasting about 45 minutes including the briefing.
Can non-swimmers do the sea activities?
Sea walking is the classic non-swimmer choice — you wear a helmet fed with air and walk on the seabed. Banana boat riders wear life jackets. Tell the beach staff and they will match you to what is safe.
Are the sea activities included in the tour price?
The tour includes transfer, boat, snorkeling gear, beach chair, insurance and guide. Sea activities are chosen and paid on the island so you only pay for what you actually do.
How much time do we get on the island?
About three and a quarter hours, from roughly 12.45 to 16.00 — enough for two activities plus snorkeling if you book them as soon as you arrive.
